checkerboard study (blue / orange) is a light-responsive painting that explores the tension between structure and movement. A checkerboard of cool blue and warm orange begins as an ordered grid, then gradually bends, stretches, and dissolves across the surface. Iridescent cellophane and textured resin further disrupt the geometry, shifting between green, gold, blue, and copper as the light and viewer’s position change.
Mounted on a natural wood cradle panel and ready to hang. This piece is signed on the reverse and best displayed in natural or directional lighting to enhance its iridescent and color-shifting qualities.
