Checkerboard study (orb) is a light-responsive painting that places a structured checkerboard grid within a circular form. Deep blue and violet iridescence shifts across pale reflective squares, punctuated by flashes of neon green, pink, and yellow. Removed from its usual edges, the familiar pattern becomes something harder to place—part grid, part object, part illusion. The textured resin surface further distorts the geometry, changing in color and reflectivity with the light and viewer’s position.

Mounted on a natural wood panel and wired for hanging, this piece is signed on the reverse and best displayed in natural or directional lighting to enhance its iridescent and color-shifting qualities.
