Interference is a light-responsive painting that explores what happens when a familiar pattern begins to break down. Fragments of a checkerboard remain visible across the circular surface, stretching and slipping out of alignment as the grid becomes increasingly difficult to follow. Iridescent cellophane shifts between green, gold, blue, and violet, further disrupting the pattern and creating a sense of visual interference that changes with the light and viewer’s position.
Mounted on a wood panel and wired for hanging, this piece is signed on the reverse and best displayed in natural or directional lighting to enhance its iridescent and color-shifting qualities.
