Window Light

Original artwork by Abby Sin

Iridescent cellophane, resin, acrylic and spray paint on cradled wood panel 30" H × 20" W × 1.75" D 2026

Window Light is a light-responsive painting based on the fleeting patterns of light and shadow cast through a window. Translated into a geometric composition, the work makes a temporary impression of light feel solid, while its iridescent surface remains in constant change. Folds and tension in the cellophane create an undulating, dimensional surface that catches and refracts light differently across the composition. Shifting between blue, green, and copper, the colors and sense of depth transform with the surrounding light and the viewer’s position.

Mounted on a natural wood panel, this piece is signed on the reverse and best displayed in natural or directional lighting to enhance its iridescent and color-shifting qualities.
